At Covert Ops Field, the Langley faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel. Rich Hill(5-6) finally bested his Tampico counterpart, Ben
Sheets(2-5), by the score of 2 to 1.
Hill pitched a fine game. He went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 hits and 4
walks seeing his ERA drop from 4.26 to 4.03. Neither team managed to score
after the 4th inning.
Hill was helped out by Todd Wellemeyer who recorded his 2nd save. Sheets
absorbed the loss. He gave up just 2 runs and 3 hits in 8 innings.
Langley continued their winnings ways improving their record to a division
leading 37-31. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. With the loss Tampico
now has a record of 30-38, worst in the division.
